A+++ I reached out to Dr Joseph Kwan, at the beginning of the pandemic, regarding my mother's health. My mother had had a suspected stroke after an eye operation, was extremely scared, disoriented, unaware and refused to go see any doctor. He was the only consultant who listened to my very specific problem, thought outside the box, and went above and beyond to help. He set up a zoom call, when noone else would. Dr Kwan is not only highly educated (8 degrees), he is extremely patient, kind and a truly caring doctor. He's very naturally aware on how to communicate effectively with the elderly and those with impairment. My mother's health was deteriorating rapidly where she couldn't recognize her husband of 50 years. Dr Kwan stepped in quickly recommending immediate further consults and testing, coordinating with local medics, insisting on covering all areas of treatment. He even suggested a very successful preventative treatment that no other doctor had thought of. That is such his wealth of knowledge, education and experience. I can't thank him enough. I only have one mother and I believe he saved her life. I am so hugely grateful for Dr Kwan's personal attention, kindness, thoroughness and attention to detail. I only hope he is able to take time for himself and his family. He is an outstanding gem and beacon of light.

Dr Kwan was caring, listened, calming and kind. Everything you would want in a doctor. He put me at ease straightaway and had a great manner.

My husband has a massive stroke aged 41. We have four young children and a whole life ahead of us. It was terrifying. Dr Kwan was with Nick through every step of his rehabilitation. He transformed Nick and gave him his life back. His level of knowledge, care and attention to detail is just exceptional. The stroke happened during the Pandemic. Dr Kwan made sure I was up-to-date with Nick’s progress and supported us as a family unit along the way. He went above and beyond to provide a level of care for all of us. Since Nick’s stroke, Dr Kwan has stepped in whenever we have asked for advice and has never failed to deliver. Most recently, when Nick had a severe headache, Dr Kwan made sure all of the right tests were given to source the problem quickly, get him out of pain and get him better. Nick and I feel very grateful that he is in our lives. He is a hero without a cape.

When I first consulted Dr Joseph Kwan, I was bewildered and very frightened, after having suffered a Brain Haemorrhage. Dr Kwan became my beacon of light, and along with his huge knowledge in his field, his efficiency, and his professionalism he saw me through a dark and difficult time in my life. Dr Kwan’s care and compassion for me as a patient helped me to realise, that quality of life could still be achieved after my Brain Haemorrhage, and later two epileptic seizures. Dr Kwan is an excellent consultant and a very thoughtful and considerate man. I had a stroke at the age of 55 during the earliest days of the pandemic, so it felt all the more difficult to understand and tackle my situation, get the right appointments and assessments, and into the care of the right people. He helped with all of that. He explained everything extremely carefully, brought me and my husband into well informed decision making, and generally made me feel much more confident about my situation. He also went above and beyond in the practical elements of getting my prescription to me when access was difficult because of the pandemic, keeping in direct contact, and generally being available to discuss any concerns. I was first seen at Charing Cross and now at Cleveland Clinic.
